Speaking during the 50th Session of the Working Group for the Universal Periodic Review, Mayor Johnson joined other local officials in highlighting what he described as serious violations stemming from federal actions under the Trump administration. He specifically pointed to aggressive immigration raids conducted by ICE agents, which he said have disrupted neighborhoods, separated families, and targeted hardworking residents including daycare workers, ride-share drivers, and restaurant staff in Chicago and surrounding areas.

Johnson emphasized that these operations have involved unnecessary violence and have undermined the dignity of Chicagoans.
