A stunned Manhattan courtroom buzzed with tension as Ghislaine Maxwell’s defense team fought tooth and nail to block explosive Epstein evidence from her 2021 sex-trafficking trial, including his infamous “little black book” packed with elite contacts and a box of sex toys seized from his Palm Beach mansion.
The November–December 2021 trial saw prosecutors push to admit Epstein’s 97-page “black book”—containing over 1,500 names like Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, Prince Andrew, and Woody Allen—as proof of Maxwell’s access to power for grooming. Defense attorneys argued it was irrelevant “propensity evidence,” risking unfair prejudice. Judge Alison Nathan allowed limited use: phone messages from the book showing Maxwell’s coordination, but not the full list.
The sex toys—vibrators, massage devices, and costumes from a 2005 raid safe—were admitted over objections, prosecutors calling them “tools of the trade” for “massages” escalating to abuse. Maxwell’s team decried “inflammatory” props; Nathan ruled them probative of the charged scheme.
The courtroom—packed with survivors, media, and curious elites—hushed as items were displayed: black book excerpts projected, toys in evidence bags. Maxwell, poised yet pale, avoided eye contact.
