Virginia Giuffre’s Relatives Declare “More Work Ahead” Following Ex-Prince Andrew’s Arrest in Epstein-Related Case
The family of the late Virginia Giuffre has responded to the recent arrest of former Prince Andrew, now referred to as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, expressing a mix of relief and determination. In interviews and statements reported by major outlets like CBS News, the relatives emphasized that while progress has been made, the pursuit of full justice remains ongoing.
British police took Andrew into custody on suspicion of misconduct in public office, stemming from fresh details uncovered in documents linked to Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking network. This development comes years after Giuffre accused the former royal of sexually abusing her when she was a minor, allegations he has repeatedly denied. Giuffre, a key survivor and advocate who detailed her experiences in her posthumous memoir Nobody’s Girl, passed away by suicide in April 2025 at age 41.
Sky Roberts, Giuffre’s brother, along with his wife Amanda, appeared on CBS’s The Takeout to discuss the arrest. They voiced appreciation for the actions of U.K. authorities, noting that the news had brought some solace to their grieving family. In a prepared statement shared publicly, the siblings and other relatives said their “broken hearts have been lifted” by the confirmation that “no one is above the law, not even royalty.” They thanked Thames Valley Police for their investigative efforts and stressed that Andrew “was never a prince” in their view, underscoring Giuffre’s courage in challenging powerful figures.
Despite the positive step, the family highlighted limitations in accountability. They described the lack of comparable actions in the United States as “shameful,” pointing to unaddressed aspects of the Epstein scandal on American soil. Sky Roberts remarked that the arrest demonstrates forward movement but clearly signals that “we have more work to do.” This sentiment reflects their commitment to honoring Virginia’s legacy by pushing for broader reforms, greater transparency in Epstein-related files, and protection for other survivors of sex trafficking.
Giuffre’s accusations against Andrew included claims of being trafficked to him by Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell during her teenage years. A notable 2001 photograph showed the then-prince with his arm around the young Giuffre, facilitated by Epstein. She pursued a civil lawsuit in the U.S., which ended in a 2022 out-of-court settlement with Andrew, who maintained no admission of guilt or liability. He has consistently rejected any wrongdoing and expressed regret solely for his association with Epstein.
The family’s reaction also ties into Giuffre’s memoir, released months after her death, which vividly recounted the grooming, exploitation, and long-term trauma she endured.
