The fearless voice whose unflinching testimony helped dismantle Jeffrey Epstein’s empire and secured millions in settlement from Prince Andrew has fallen silent forever—Virginia Giuffre is gone.
On April 25, 2025, Giuffre, aged 41, died by suicide at her farm in Neergabby, Western Australia, where she had lived quietly with her family for several years. Her family released a heartbreaking statement: “It is with utterly broken hearts that we announce that Virginia passed away last night… She lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking.”
Giuffre’s courage redefined justice for Epstein’s survivors. Recruited as a teenager while working at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, she endured years of trafficking by Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Her public accusations, starting in 2011, paved the way for dozens of women to come forward. Her 2021 lawsuit against Prince Andrew alleging sexual abuse as a minor led to a multimillion-dollar out-of-court settlement in 2022, forcing the royal to retreat from public life.
Even after Epstein’s 2019 death and Maxwell’s 2021 conviction, Giuffre fought on, founding victim advocacy groups and speaking out relentlessly. Fellow survivors credited her with giving them strength: “She was the light that lifted so many,” her family said.
The toll was immense. Lifelong trauma, PTSD, and relentless scrutiny weighed heavily. Her posthumous memoir, Nobody’s Girl, released in October 2025, became a bestseller, selling over a million copies and revealing raw details of her abuse and resilience.
Giuffre leaves behind three children, her greatest motivation to fight. Her death underscores the enduring scars of trafficking.
