“Nobody’s Girl”: Virginia Giuffre’s Posthumous Memoir Exposes Alleged Abuse by Epstein, Maxwell, and Prince Andrew

The memoir titled Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice, authored by the late Virginia Roberts Giuffre, has brought fresh attention to the allegations of sexual exploitation she leveled against Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and Britain’s Prince Andrew. Published posthumously on October 21, 2025, by Alfred A. Knopf, the book offers a raw, unfiltered account of Giuffre’s experiences as a teenager drawn into Epstein’s trafficking network.

Giuffre, who became one of the most visible survivors and advocates in the Epstein case, detailed how she was groomed and abused starting in her mid-teens. She described being recruited by Ghislaine Maxwell at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida when she was just 16 or 17 years old. According to the memoir, Maxwell and Epstein treated her as part of a larger operation that supplied young women to wealthy and influential men for sexual purposes. Giuffre portrayed Epstein as a manipulative figure who orchestrated the exploitation, with Maxwell playing a key role in recruiting and managing victims.

A significant portion of the book focuses on Prince Andrew, the younger brother of King Charles III and son of the late Queen Elizabeth II. Giuffre alleged that she was forced into sexual encounters with him on three separate occasions. These purported incidents reportedly occurred in various locations, including London (at Maxwell’s residence), New York, and Epstein’s private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands. She claimed the first meeting happened in 2001 when she was 17, and described Andrew as acting with a sense of entitlement, as though such interactions were his prerogative.

Prince Andrew has consistently denied these accusations, asserting that he had no sexual contact with Giuffre and questioning the validity of her claims. He previously settled a civil lawsuit brought by Giuffre in 2022, providing a financial payment and a donation to a victims’ charity without admitting any wrongdoing. The memoir’s release intensified scrutiny on the prince, contributing to further consequences for his royal status, including the relinquishment of certain titles amid ongoing public backlash.

Giuffre’s writings also touch on broader patterns of abuse within Epstein’s circle, including claims of being trafficked to other prominent figures. She expressed profound fear during her time under Epstein’s control, writing that she believed she might “die a sex slave.” The book serves as both a personal testimony of trauma and a call for accountability, highlighting systemic failures that allowed such exploitation to persist among the elite.

Tragically, Virginia Giuffre died by suicide in April 2025 at age 41 in Australia, several months before the memoir’s publication. She had co-written the book with journalist Amy Wallace and insisted it be released regardless of her circumstances. Her family and collaborators have described it as a final act of courage, aimed at supporting other survivors and exposing the realities of sexual trafficking.

Nobody’s Girl has achieved bestseller status, spending weeks on major nonfiction lists, and continues to spark discussions about power imbalances, institutional complicity, and justice for victims of high-profile abuse networks. Through her words, Giuffre sought to transform her pain into a force for change, ensuring her story—and those of countless others—could no longer be ignored.
