In a major development on December 23, 2025, the U.S. Department of Justice released a substantial new batch of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein’s sex-trafficking network, reigniting scrutiny over former Prince Andrew’s long-standing ties to the disgraced financier and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell. Among the revelations are emails from 2001 and 2002 that appear to show Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor (formerly Prince Andrew) directly relying on Maxwell to arrange encounters with young women, described in coded and suggestive language.
The emails, sent under aliases like “The Invisible Man” and signed “A,” strongly point to Andrew. One message from August 16, 2001, written while he was at Balmoral Castle, asks Maxwell: “Have you found me some new inappropriate friends?” He adds, “As for girls well I leave that entirely to you.” Maxwell responded by forwarding requests to a Peruvian contact for “two-legged sight-seeing” with “intelligent pretty fun” girls from “good families,” emphasizing discretion and that the introductions should be “friendly and discreet and fun.”

These exchanges coincide with Andrew’s official royal duties, including a trip to Peru in 2002. Prosecutors noted that the documents reveal Andrew had knowledge that Maxwell recruited females for sexual acts with Epstein and others. They also confirm evidence of his presence during interactions involving victims and his own alleged sexual conduct with one of Epstein’s victims.
Andrew has consistently denied all allegations of wrongdoing, including claims by Virginia Giuffre that he sexually assaulted her as a teenager. He settled a civil lawsuit with Giuffre in 2022 without admitting liability. Despite this, the new files have intensified calls for accountability, though no criminal charges have been brought against him.
The release, part of ongoing efforts under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, includes thousands of pages and images but has drawn criticism for heavy redactions and withheld materials. It underscores the enduring fallout from Epstein’s crimes, with Maxwell currently serving a 20-year sentence for her role in the trafficking ring.
These documents provide fresh, disturbing evidence of how high-profile figures like Andrew allegedly exploited Maxwell’s network for access to young women, further tarnishing his reputation and highlighting the need for continued transparency in the Epstein case.
