15 MINUTES AGO – THE WHOLE COUNTRY OF THAILAND IS SHOCKED BY THE DEATH OF BRIGHT VACHIRAWIT
The peaceful atmosphere of the mountainous Chiang Mai area this afternoon was torn apart by a terrifying sound – a metallic clash, followed by a loud explosion echoing down from the rugged Mae Rim Pass. Local police confirmed that actor Bright Vachirawit’s silver Porsche 911 Turbo S lost control, crashed through the guardrail and fell more than 60 meters into a deep ravine. When rescuers reached the scene, the car was completely deformed, black smoke billowing into the air. Bright did not survive – his body was found in the driver’s seat, wearing a seatbelt, his head tilted to one side as if sleeping.
Witnesses recounted the fateful moment: “I heard a bang and then the car lost control. It spun around before disappearing from the edge of the pass,” said Mr. Somchai, a truck driver who was following behind, with a trembling voice. Police said traffic cameras showed the right rear wheel of the car exploded at a speed of nearly 170 km/h, causing the steering to become unstable. “The road was dry, visibility was good, it was clearly a technical accident and not due to negligence,” added Chief Superintendent Thanawat.
It took rescuers nearly 30 minutes to reach the accident site because of the difficult terrain. “We had to use ropes, gasoline smoke was still coming out, and we could hear small explosions from the engine,” said a rescue worker. As the body was brought to the surface, onlookers were in tears. “No one believed it was Bright. Just this morning he posted a picture of the Chiang Mai skyline on Instagram,” said a reporter, choking up.
At the scene, a charred silver amulet was found hanging from the rearview mirror – an item Bright always carried when driving. His phone was broken but still had a missed call from his mother just minutes before the accident.
As the news spread, Thai social media exploded. The hashtags #PrayForBright and #GoodbyeBrightVachirawit climbed to the top of the global trending list in just 10 minutes. Millions of fans flooded his page, leaving candle and black heart emoticons. Co-star Win Metawin wrote: “He was a true light, not only on screen but also in life.”
At Maharaj Nakorn Hospital, where the body was taken, dozens of reporters and fans were on duty overnight. The head doctor of the emergency department confirmed: “The victim suffered a severe head injury and multiple internal injuries. Death was instantaneous.” Bright’s family was notified and was on their way from Bangkok to Chiang Mai in a state of shock.
Police have cordoned off the scene for investigation. Initial reports suggest the tire was manufactured just two months ago, but may have suffered structural failure due to the high temperatures during the mountain pass journey. Porsche Thailand has expressed its condolences and pledged to fully cooperate with the authorities.

As night fell, hundreds of fans gathered at the foot of the pass, lighting candles, placing white flowers and photos of Bright smiling. Tears filled the air as he sang “Lost & Found” – a song he performed on his most recent tour. The lights of mobile phones illuminated the mountainside, where smoke still rose from the charred remains of the car.
Thai national television paused its regular programming to replay the best moments of his career – from his role in “2gether: The Series” to his international concerts. Japanese, Korean and Philippine TV stations also reported the news, calling him “a star of Asia who has passed away at the age of 27.”
The Thai government sent condolences to the family, calling Bright “an icon of the younger generation.” According to the latest information, the funeral will be held at Wat Benchamabophit, Bangkok, with Buddhist rituals and the national flag flying at half-staff for three days.

That night, the wind blew through the mountains of Chiang Mai, carrying the scent of smoke and jasmine. A local whispered: “He always brought light – and today, the sky received it back.”
