Her family confirmed she died by suicide, stating: “She lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking. In the end, the toll of abuse is so heavy that it became unbearable for Virginia to handle its weight.” Authorities described the death as non-suspicious, though an investigation continues.
Giuffre, born Virginia Roberts in 1983, rose from a troubled childhood to become one of Jeffrey Epstein’s most prominent accusers. Groomed at 16 while working at Mar-a-Lago, she alleged trafficking by Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell to powerful men, including three encounters with Prince Andrew (settled out of court in 2022 without admission of liability).
