What Hidden Paths Did Nearly 200 Mobile Devices Reveal as They Traced Elite Visitors Straight to the Heart of Jeffrey Epstein’s Notorious Private Island Years After His Conviction?
A bombshell 2024 WIRED investigation, based on leaked data from controversial location broker Near Intelligence, has exposed digital footprints left by nearly 200 mobile devices that visited Jeffrey Epstein’s infamous Little St. James island between 2016 and his 2019 arrest—long after his 2008 conviction for procuring a minor for prostitution.

The trove of over 11,000 coordinates paints a chilling picture of persistent elite access to the secluded U.S. Virgin Islands property, dubbed “Pedophile Island” amid allegations of widespread trafficking and abuse. Devices were tracked arriving via common routes: from luxury spots like the Ritz-Carlton on neighboring St. Thomas to Epstein’s co-owned American Yacht Harbor marina, then ferried directly to his private dock. On the island, signals pinged across notorious sites—the enigmatic blue-striped temple, pristine beaches, pools, and cabanas—revealing movements with centimeter precision.
Tracing these devices backward uncovered inferred home and work addresses in 166 locations across 26 U.S. states and territories, plus international spots in Ukraine, the Cayman Islands, and Australia. Top origins included Florida, New York, Massachusetts, Texas, and Michigan, linking to gated mansions, Martha’s Vineyard estates, Nantucket homes, a Miami nightclub, and even a sidewalk opposite Trump Tower in Manhattan.
This data, sourced from ad exchanges and inadvertently exposed online, underscores how Epstein’s network endured despite public scandal. While no individual names were publicly tied to devices—to protect potential victims—the patterns highlight wealthy visitors seemingly undeterred by his criminal status. Near Intelligence, plagued by fraud allegations and bankruptcy, confirmed the dataset but declined to reveal its purpose or clients.
As demands grow for fuller Epstein file releases, this digital trail raises urgent questions: Who continued associating with a known predator, and why? The invisible signals from those phones now illuminate paths long shrouded in secrecy.
