In a candid interview with Megyn Kelly in May 2025, renowned attorney Alan Dershowitz—Jeffrey Epstein’s former lawyer—addressed the tragic suicide of Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s most prominent accusers, while renewing his urgent call for the full release of sealed Epstein documents he believes hold critical truths.

Giuffre, who died by suicide in April 2025 at age 41 in Western Australia, had accused Dershowitz of sexual abuse as part of Epstein’s trafficking ring. Dershowitz vehemently denied the claims, leading to years of litigation that ended in a 2022 settlement where Giuffre stated she “may have made a mistake” in identifying him. In the interview, Dershowitz reflected on the resolution, noting he came to believe Giuffre genuinely thought her accusations were true at the time, despite his innocence.

Her death, coming amid personal struggles including a car accident, health issues, and family challenges, shocked the survivor community. Family statements linked it to the lifelong trauma of abuse, describing the toll as “unbearable.” Authorities deemed it non-suspicious, with an ongoing coronial inquiry.

Dershowitz, however, shifted focus to broader transparency, arguing powerful figures are still protected by withheld Epstein files. He insisted explosive materials—depositions, FBI reports, and victim interviews naming prominent individuals—remain sealed by federal judges in New York, not the Justice Department or White House.

“I’ve seen some of these materials,” Dershowitz said, emphasizing redactions hide key details. He criticized partial releases, like 2025 congressional document dumps including emails and photos, as insufficient. These revealed Epstein’s ties to figures across politics but, per Dershowitz, avoided the “most important” sealed content.

Calling for judges to unseal depositions, Dershowitz advocated full disclosure: “No one should be protected.” He suggested immunity for Ghislaine Maxwell to testify, claiming she “knows everything.” Despite ongoing releases—thousands of pages and images in late 2025—the core files, he argued, stay locked, fueling speculation.

Dershowitz’s comments reignite debate over Epstein’s network, elite accountability, and whether full transparency will ever emerge. As Giuffre’s posthumous memoir Nobody’s Girl echoes her allegations, her death and Dershowitz’s demands underscore lingering shadows over one of America’s most infamous scandals.
