In a startling email unearthed from the Epstein files, Virginia Giuffre reveals how Bill Clinton allegedly stormed into Vanity Fair’s offices to warn editors against exposing his “good friend” Jeffrey Epstein’s sex-trafficking horrors, raising urgent questions about the lengths power goes to silence damning truths.

The allegation surfaced in a May 2011 email from Giuffre to journalist Sharon Churcher, part of court documents unsealed in January 2024 from Giuffre’s 2015 defamation lawsuit against Ghislaine Maxwell. Giuffre, then weighing whether to share her story with Vanity Fair, expressed hesitation: “It does concern me what they could want to write about me considering that B. Clinton walked into VF and threatened them not to write sex-trafficking articles about his good friend J.E.”
This claim echoes longstanding concerns about media suppression in the Epstein scandal. In 2003, Vanity Fair published a profile on Epstein that omitted serious abuse allegations uncovered by reporter Vicky Ward, who later revealed Epstein himself visited the office and pressured editor Graydon Carter. Some speculate Giuffre may have conflated Epstein’s actions with rumors involving Clinton.
Vanity Fair insiders, including former editor Graydon Carter, categorically denied Clinton ever stormed their offices or issued threats: “This categorically did not happen.” Clinton’s spokesperson reiterated that he knew nothing of Epstein’s crimes and had no close relationship with him post-presidency.
Giuffre never accused Clinton of sexual misconduct, though she noted his social ties to Epstein, including dinners she attended. Clinton has acknowledged flying on Epstein’s plane for philanthropic trips but denied visiting his island or knowledge of crimes.
The email underscores the chilling influence Epstein’s circle wielded over media, fueling debate on accountability for those who associated with him. As Giuffre’s posthumous memoir reinforces, powerful connections often delayed justice for victims—reminding us how far elites might go to protect their own.
