The viral claim that Mark Zuckerberg appeared on a CBS program called “America’s Freedom,” raging about a “cover-up by power” in the deaths of Jeffrey Epstein and Virginia Giuffre, is false—a fabricated deepfake originating from misinformation networks.

No such program exists on CBS, and Zuckerberg has made no public statements accusing a cover-up in their deaths. Epstein died by suicide in 2019 (official ruling), and Giuffre by suicide on April 25, 2025. The hoax, traced to Vietnam-based fake news pages using AI voice cloning and video synthesis, surfaced around late November 2025, exploiting Epstein file releases under the Transparency Act.
Similar fakes have targeted celebrities, including fabricated Zuckerberg quotes about assassinations or crimes. Fact-checkers like Snopes and Lead Stories debunked it by December 1, noting mismatched audio, lighting artifacts, and non-existent broadcast records. Zuckerberg’s verified interviews in 2025 focus on Meta policies, not Epstein.
The claim preys on real Epstein scrutiny—Giuffre’s memoir Nobody’s Girl (October 21, 2025) exposed elite complicity—but fabricates Zuckerberg’s involvement. As disclosures continue by December 19, verified sources remain essential amid misinformation surges.
