Massie’s Bombshell: Epstein’s “Close Ties” to US and Israeli Intelligence Spark Outrage Over Delayed Files
In a stunning September 7, 2025, appearance on ABC’s This Week, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) froze the press corps and ignited national fury by alleging that Jeffrey Epstein likely had “close ties to our own intelligence agency and Israel’s intelligence agencies.” The Kentucky Republican suggested these connections—potentially involving the CIA and Mossad—explain resistance to fully releasing Epstein’s files, warning that revelations would “shock” Americans about intelligence agencies collaborating with a known pedophile and sex trafficker.

Massie, alongside Democrat Rep. Ro Khanna, was pushing a bipartisan discharge petition to force the Justice Department to disclose all Epstein records. He argued delays stem from protecting powerful figures: “We can’t avoid justice just to avoid embarrassment for some very powerful men.” While he referenced possible CIA links and “other foreign intelligence,” later statements in November 2025 explicitly tied delays to Israeli influence, claiming “Israeli intelligence and our own CIA was wrapped up with Epstein.”
The comments amplified longstanding theories about Epstein’s operations as a potential blackmail network, fueled by his associations with figures like Ghislaine Maxwell—whose father Robert was alleged to have Mossad ties—and former Israeli PM Ehud Barak. Massie’s claims drew sharp backlash, with critics labeling them unsubstantiated, while supporters hailed his push for transparency.
By late 2025, Massie and Khanna’s efforts culminated in the Epstein Files Transparency Act, passed overwhelmingly in November. Yet, as of December 31, 2025, the DOJ has missed deadlines, citing over a million newly discovered documents, prompting threats of contempt against Attorney General Pam Bondi. Partial releases have been criticized as redacted and incomplete, intensifying demands for full disclosure.
Massie’s bold assertion has kept the Epstein saga in headlines, raising profound questions about elite protection, intelligence involvement, and justice for victims amid ongoing delays.
