The sensational tale, erupting from dubious sites like buzzlink, fakehollywoodnews, and worldtrending24, claimed Hanks appeared in a revived Netflix series, sobbing while naming 20 celebrities, billionaires, and politicians as Epstein accomplices. The fabricated clip—AI voice perfectly cloned, face seamlessly deepfaked—showed Hanks clutching Nobody’s Girl, saying “I can’t stay silent anymore… these names are in the book and they must be held accountable.”
Within hours the fake video reached 17 million views, #HanksExposesEpstein trended with 4.1 million posts, many people shared it crying “Finally someone with courage!” Snopes, Reuters and Lead Stories crushed it in under 24 hours: no such episode exists, Dirty Money ended years ago, Hanks has never spoken about Epstein publicly and Netflix confirmed “zero involvement.” The deepfake was traced to the same Vietnam fake-news farms that made the Oprah, Goldie Hawn and Zuckerberg hoaxes.
While Giuffre’s real memoir (400 pages, no secret 20-name list) did name Andrew 88 times and forced his titles gone, the hoax turned her genuine pain into clickbait. Hanks’ team called it “disgusting exploitation of a dead woman’s trauma.”
