On March 30, 2025, Virginia Giuffre posted a shocking selfie from her hospital bed in Perth, Australia, her face visibly bruised and swollen, with the caption detailing a March 24 school bus crash that she claimed “plowed” into her car at high speed, causing kidney failure and leaving doctors giving her “four days to live.”

The image showed extensive bruising across her cheeks, eyes, and torso, with medical equipment visible. Giuffre wrote: “When a school bus driver comes at you driving 110km… I’ve gone into kidney renal failure, they’ve given me four days to live.” She expressed a wish to see her three children one last time amid an ongoing custody battle.

Her spokesperson confirmed she was receiving care but clarified the post was meant for private Facebook. Western Australia Police described the incident as a “minor collision” with no injuries reported and $2,000 in vehicle damage; the bus driver called it a “minor bump.” Giuffre was discharged April 7 in stable condition, with medical sources denying the dire prognosis.

The post, amid personal struggles including domestic abuse allegations, amplified concern before her April 25 suicide. Her memoir Nobody’s Girl (October 21, 2025) later framed such moments as part of systemic tolls.
